About

I joined BCDM, Des Moines office right after graduating with a degree in Architecture (five year program) from Iowa State University in June 2006 and relocated to Columbia, SC in July 2010 after getting married. During past few months here in Columbia, I have kept myself busy by studying for ARE and also, practicing marketing, graphic and photography skills.

While working for BCDM, I have been involved in several renovation, additions and new construction projects. I have worked on verity of projects, which include Educational Facilities (K12), Religious and Recreational projects. I worked on several projects, at various stages. which included assisting in preparing presentations for Job interviews, master planning, construction documents at all design phases and also preparing as-built documents.

While working for BSB during two summers as an intern architect (during my college days) gained good understanding of residential architecture, as well as professional environment to help me start my architectural career with confidence.

My past experience, as reflected in my resume, working for both BCDM and BSB has been very valuable in refining my skills. I have enjoyed taking on new tasks and overcoming challenges, manage my time effectively and efficiently, support the team under pressure and work hard to meet the deadlines.

My website ( http://www.wix.com/farahkj/portfolio ) includes most up to date Resume and Portfolio that includes few of many projects i have worked on, Graphics and Photography examples.
