My interests focus on a sustainable future. I firmly believe that proper design has the ability to affect people's attitudes and behaviors to create a culture of sustainability, and therefore have a much greater impact on the environment, the economy, and society than simply stopping at green architecture.

Miscellaneous construction and carpentry tasks. Primary project focused on designing and remodeling a century-old carriage house into a music studio for practice and recording. I completed this project with a partner but my duties consisted of:
- Developing the design for the remodel,
- Documentation for permits,
- Cost & materials estimation,
- Maintaining project budget,
- Plus the various construction tasks.

Hold initial informational and grant-writing workshops, send out a Request for Proposals (RFP), coordinate evaluation of RFPs in committee, award up to $15,000 in grant money to award recipients, meet with regularly and aid grant recipients throughout academic year with project administration, maintain budget of award money, coordinate and aid in public outreach and information on projects, aid other staff members of the UI Sustainability Center.
