About

Frederick W. Brink, MArch,B.S.,A.S.,A.A.S.

I have over four years experience as an architectural designer on commercial construction projects,  and five years experience on civil engineering projects while serving in the MI Air National Guard as a Civil Engineering Assistant/Site Development Specialist, most earned while in college. I also have work experience as a cost estimator for an architectural products manufacturer.  I am a fast learner and believe I could accomplish every task required of me.

I am also computer literate with experience in CAD and Microsoft software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as many others. I also have military disaster preparedness training and experience.

I have college level teaching experience in Architectural Design Theory and CAD Construction Document Preparations including construction specifications, as well as Algebra, Trigonometry, Structural Vector Math for sizing construction members and Written Communications.  While teaching I was responsible for writing lesson plans and all tests, quizzes, exams and grading. Examples are available for inspection and evaluation.

I have spec’d equipment and written specs on several commercial architectural projects. I have also designed company technical layouts for Sweets Catalog admission. I have construction fee inspection business experience. I feel confident that given minimal supervision I can accomplish any architectural task.

I have received very good performance reviews. I have been told that I am a hard worker and work well with others, I am a thorough researcher, I am quick to volunteer, I work at a faster pace and usually produce more work than normally expected as well as many more positive attributes.
I may not have earned all straight A’s in college, however, I did the best I could as a divorced father and full time student in my 30’s and 40’s, working sometimes full time, and other times 20-40 hours per week with only four hours of sleep allotted per night. I also participated in ongoing daily extra-curricular activities such as jogging, swimming, working out. I was also a lead trombonist in various groups such as several church orchestras, SMC Jazz Band and musical orchestras, UofM Concert Bands and Orchestras, Ann Arbor Community Orchestra, a Dixie Land Band and a Big Band in Kalamazoo, as well as a Jazz Band and a Big Band in Ann Arbor.

As a divorced father I juggled my time with kids and college. I am a Viet Nam Era USAF veteran and I served six years in the Michigan Air National Guard while attending college. I was also injured in an auto/motorcycle mishap my first semester at grad school, yet with my ankle crushed and leg fractured and in a cast, I continued my classes as well as continued to work for UofM’s Office of Facilities Planning and Design.
