In late 2015, Sotheby’s New York contacted Gluckman Tang to renovate and expand the gallery spaces at their York Avenue location. 9,100 square feet of existing office space and 26,000 square feet of existing gallery spaces were renovated to achieve a more adaptable and modern “Chelsea Gallery” aesthetic. 

The renovation and expansion occurred over 5 floors of their New York Headquarters and  provided over 1,800 linear feet of new art hanging walls. Gluckman Tang worked closely with Archstone Builders and Sotheby’s to achieve the expansion and renovation within in a very tight time frame. Construction began in mid-March after the closing of their Asian Art exhibition, and was completed by mid-April, in time for their Impressionist and Modern Art exhibition.
