Nicolas Lee is a graduate student in the Masters in Architecture II (Postprofessional) program at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Previously, he studied with Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron in the Harvard-ETH Joint Studio (Contemporary City Institute) in Basel. He also studied with Nathalie de Vries (MVRDV) in her option studio. Currently, he is taking a gap year from his graduate studies and is working as an Architectural Design Intern at MVRDV in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Nicolas holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Cum Laude) degree from Syracuse University's School of Architecture in New York, where he completed his thesis titled - The City Within The City. The project was selected for the Thesis Awards Jury at Syracuse Architecture, and was awarded Dean's Citation for Excellence in Thesis Design. He was also a recipient of the Syracuse University Chancellor's Scholarship and Dean's list. In his 4th year at Syracuse, he studied with Joshua Prince-Ramus (RE X) in the New York City Urban studio, and studied abroad in Florence, Italy.
In the past, he has worked as an architectural intern, a project manager assistant, a freelance designer, a project collaborator, a graphic designer and a teaching assistant.
Nicolas was born in Hong Kong, and has lived in Vancouver and Toronto.
