This adaptive-reuse study project, located in Hunters Point San Francisco, aimed to reimagine an abandoned World War II-era storage building as a new innovation center that provides the community with a forum for exchanging ideas, performing research, and presenting new ideas and inventions. By carving out new entry locations for natural lighting and introducing substantial seismic structural bracings, large open spaces were created that complement the research labs that are visible from those spaces.
