The goal of the project is to unify the entry to the main house, tie the guest house architecturally to the main house, both of which share a driveway with one neighbor. The office worked on many features around the building site, including a new deck with built-in grill and firepit on the East side, and a carport on the west, in addition to new landscaping, fencing, and retaining walls. My contributed proposal helped win Kevin Stephens Design Group the bid over 7 other firms, which included Solar Thermal water heating and Photovoltaic panels to offset the energy from the new hot tub the clients wanted to include in this exterior retrofit. I designed this carport and west facade of the house, which is the side seen on approach from the driveway, to support the photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, as well as begin the entry sequence from the driveway to the front door.
