The owner’s intent was to convert the drab existing house into an elegant, spartan luxury home. The interior’s uncluttered, sophisticated look is achieved using custom-built cabinetry throughout, providing both style and function. Use of complementary light and dark woods, calcutta marble, split-faced stone, and blackened steel create rich, yet clean layers of natural materials to provide a warm and modern environment. The exterior was enhanced by introducing a mix of materials and layers of lighting, breaking up the mass and emphasizing the corner views out to the bay.
