Amazon Regional University IKIAM, 1st Place
The objective for this contest was to design a campus of first line that will contribute to the development of knowledge and science in Ecuador. Located in the Amazon Region in the jungle, it is hoped that with the Ikiam time be consolidated as a center of innovation in biotechnology, conservation, geology, ethnography and related areas.
An important premise of the proposal was the urban occupation exclusively of degraded areas in the field of Ikiam. In spite of the fact that the existing forest in the field is secondary, this can be considered as an ecosystem with a significant biodiversity that has more than thirty years of recovery since when was amended in the years 80’s.
Beach Artisan Store, Honorable Mention
An academic Honourable mention from the Architecture School of Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador for sustainable, schematic and structural design of a Beach Artisan Store located in Manta - Ecuador. The architectural proposal it was designed in wood and bamboo, materials commons in this tropical zone.
