She is a designer who likes to push the boundaries of materials, and have explored this across many scales and mediums. Since graduating Katherine's focus has shifted to smaller scales of design. Working in art fabrication and design and build firms. her most recent project of significance was as architectural designer for Rachel Feinsteins sculptures "Folly" for Madison Square Park Summer 2014.

For wars over the last year and a half i have been primarily in charge of 3d modelling, design visualisations and creating assemblage drawings. Perfection Electricks, Brooklyn, NY, US, design technition
Perfection Electricks a Green-point metal fabrication shop. For summer 2014 we completed the fabrication of three large scale aluminum sculptures for NY artist Rachel Feinstein to be installed in Madison Square Park. My role as architectural designer and digital technician was to liaison between the artist, engineer, and fabricators to transform the artists 6 inch paper models into 26 foot aluminum sculptures. This involved making comprehensive 3d models, creating a kit of parts and instructions for the three sculptures. The was composed of hundreds of milled pieces and custom mapped graphics.
Sarah Oppenhemer, New York, NY, US, Intern
From March to May this year I completed a three-month internship for the New York-based artist Sarah Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer’s work spans the disciplinary boundaries between sculpture and architecture. Her sculptural interventions disrupt the architecture of the exhibition space by physically displacing the conventions of the built environment. While working with her I was mainly in charge of physical model-making, in which I tested her design iterations. In this process I gained a unique understanding about the interactions of light in space and the subtle changes in form that can completely alter ones experience of space.
Lyons, Melbourne - Australia, Junior architect
Lyons is an architectural and urban design practice based in Melbourne, Australia. The firm designs projects which are responsive to and expressive of a contemporary experience of local and global culture. Whilst there I worked as part of a small team that completed a medium sized institutional project from Sketch Design through to Construction Documentation for 'Pathways' at Latrobe University,
Melbourne Australia. The building is currently under construction and is due for completion this year. The practical experience I gained in all areas of the architectural process at Lyons was invaluable, and I proved to be capable of working quickly to tight deadlines while upholding a continually high standard of work.
