Architectural Thesis: Cardiovascular Hospital

Abstract:

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the top 1 killer disease in the Philippines where every hour, 19 Filipinos die of CVD. Based on the statistics of the Department of Health (DOH) there is a constant growth of the mortality rate of CVD patients, whereas, from 1990 to 2000 the mortality rate of CVD is 74.6%-79.1%. Killing an average of 46,272 to 60,417 Filipinos per year. In 2012, CVD cases experienced a skyrocket where there is an increase of 37.9%. A rate of 117% killing 170,000 Filipinos per year. Due to the burden of CVD in the country, the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) has strategize to plant Regional Heart Centers all over the country.
