Design Associate Position – Benner Landscape Design

Benner Landscape Design (BLD) is seeking a creative self-starter for a Design Associate position in our Los Angeles office.  Benner Landscape Design is a nationally- recognized landscape architecture studio focused on residential and boutique commercial landscape design with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.  In our work, we collaborate with leading architectural and interior design professionals from around the country.  BLD’s designs combine classic principles, contemporary California sensibilities and a love of craftsmanship to create spaces for true indoor/outdoor living.  BLD manages all phases of landscape projects from concept design to construction documentation and construction administration.  BLD has projects throughout California including in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara County and the San Francisco Bay area. Skill Requirements:

  • Work directly with owner, Patricia Benner, and Project Managers to support in producing Schematic Design presentations, Design Development, 2 and 3 D drawings and renderings, AutoCAD drafting of layout plans and details, construction documentation, and material palette research. 
  • An in-depth understanding of the basic principles of Landscape Architecture including site design, grading and drainage, sustainable and fire-resistant planting design. 
  • A high level of proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with LandFX desired.
  • Experience with 3D modeling, Sketchup, and Lumion rendering software desired.
  • Strong graphic skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, primarily In Design and Photoshop;
  • Effective at working both collaboratively and independently;
  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture;
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Landscape Architecture studio;
