About

I wanted to become an architect for as long as I could remember. As a young girl, I accompanied my realtor mother on house-showings each week while watching my father remodel and expand our family home with his bare hands. This curiosity for design and space-making occurred early, and I truly believe it influenced my current life path. By eight years old, I would take an Etch-A-Sketch and draw a two-story elevation full of minute details. Fast forward to high school, I had the unique opportunity to participate in a four-year interior design program in conjunction with the local state college. This is when I knew for certain.

I soon realized that pursuing architecture gave me more opportunity for my own aspirations than I could even fathom. Attending the University of Florida's Architecture Program expanded my horizons and thought, challenged and hardened me, and gave me the upmost satisfaction and pride in my hard work. Through both critical thinking skills and design experimentation, I was able to contextual, conceptualize, and convey such ideas. Once you learn to think like a designer, your perception is eternally transformed.

I pushed through my undergraduate program, went straight into my graduate program, and began my first real architecture job during the 2020 pandemic. I even started my very own LLC to support the various freelance work that I offer called Intricate Modern Structures (aka IMS LLC). Adapting to the new ways of the world was no easy feat, yet I felt more than capable and even more determined to reach my end goal. Currently, I am in my second and last year of of Master of Architecture program where I have begun my thesis on place, phenomenology, and making and while teaching other students. Although this final chapter saddens me greatly as I will be a forever student myself, I am preparing myself for the life and career of my dreams. I am ready.
