Housing

Our structural work for the renovation of an existing character house involved a number of alterations and additions.

The house is set on a very steep, sloping block with poor street access. The street, floor and roof levels needed to comply with planning requirements, while increasing vehicle access. We also needed to underpin the neighbour’s fence to maintain stability during construction.

Our design maximises the living area and blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, by incorporating roof framing that caters to large, corner-opening doors.

We integrated the wall and floor structures into the same plane, to comply with planning measures and maximise ceiling heights.

Our design retains the character of the Queenslander, while increasing its fantastic views to the rear.
