Fall 2012
Located in Tabora, Tanzania, Efeso Baptist Church is dedicated to the mission of ridding Tabora of poverty of all kinds: spiritual, social, economic, and social poverty. They work with Compassion International sponsored children to reach out to children in the community, by teaching them about Jesus, tutoring them in their schoolwork, and eventually teaching them vocations like woodworking. Engineering Ministries International (eMi) Canada sent a team of 8 design professionals to Tanzania to survey, speak to church leaders, masterplan, and design new buildings and water management systems for the future needs of the ministry.
The final masterplan includes two courtyards, one primarily for the children's school and the other for the vocational programs. The masterplan allows for the growth of the ministry over time as they These buildings are built with local building methods.
