I know moving up to a Project Architect Position is usually through extensive experiences but I just want to know if there are books that you can read to acquire the same skills/technical knowledge that a Project Architect would know.

First question: What is your understanding of what a PA does?
Second: Can you learn those skills from books?
I'd recommend Neufert's architectural standard since you're so inclined ;)
I've found Project Architecting For Dummies quite useful, hope it helps.
