Stallan-Brand have have prepared preliminary urban design proposals for a major mixed use project in Glasgow's historic Merchant City. The proposals involve the creation of a new city block, a city park and significant new public space.
The proposal which includes residential, commercial and social activity is located on sizeable gap site between the Cathedral and the beautiful Necropolis to the north and the River Clyde and Glasgow green to the south. One of the key drivers behind the development is to provide accommodation for Glasgow's growing domicile and international student population.
Paul Stallan and Alistair Brand have previously completed range of award winning projects in the Merchant City area including the celebrated Tron Theatre redevelopment, a new gallery for the Modern Institute and warehouse conversions in the Italian Centre and the fashionable Brunswick Street area.
