Let's create something different, shall we?
The forest floor is enchanting, magical and mystical. Did you know that most of our common indoor houseplants come from the rainforest floor?
For an inverted, or underground garden, Hortus conceptualized the forest floor as a compliment in direct opposition to the space aged technology used to filter light into an abandoned underground trolley station, creating an indoor ecosystem that will sustain in an enclosed environment (hortus conclusus) and provide a lush, comfortable space for visitors.
"The scale of the knoll and the voluminous darkness combine to make you feel like you’ve downed a vial labeled 'DRINK ME.'" - Megan O'Rourke - New Yorker
