Our proposed Busan Opera House complex ambitions to become a space conceived, structured and designed to host every major cultural event planned within the City of Busan: Film festival, Fashion and Design weeks, etc. and approaches this objective through the idea of Network creation. Indeed, we envision the Opera as a major node and facilitator that will contribute to crystallize the city-wide network of cultural expressions, whilst the idea of Network creation is simultaneously reflected within the proposal itself: all major functions within the proposal are conceived to work separately yet together in the occasion of a major cultural event. We wish to enact the idea of the city as a cultural network of which the new Busan Opera House Complex shall become the main and key urban aggregator.
