2015 GREEN BUILDING WITH WOOD AWARD
Patano Studio Architecture are completing a unique collaboration with the University of Idaho College of Natural Resources to design and construct an all Idaho wood products high-performance Reveley Classroom Building at their Pitkin Nursery facility east of Moscow.
Patano Studio was chosen because of our research based design process and our high-performance building envelope design experience.
The project featured Idaho Forest Products and is a working example of the variety of raw and engineered wood products that the state of Idaho produces. Additionally, the building is an international symbol for the College of Natural Resources, hosting events with partners from Spain, South Korea as well as with industry partners within Idaho.
A double-stud and cellulose insulation wall assembly with rigid insulation on the roof in conjunction with a wood burning fire place result in a low-energy use building. The proper solar orientation and screening of window openings prevents unwanted solar gain.
The project is scheduled for a Grand Opening Ceremony September 12, 2014
