The main circulation axis of the Hunter campus crosses the third floor bridge to the library’s main entrance floor. At the culmination of that third floor axis is the primary reference desk and main floor of the information commons. The information commons is a digital research and collaborative learning space that typifies the 21st century academic library.

The design of the floor has been kept as open and unobstructed as possible with three prominent service nodes; welcome, circulation/reserve and reference. There is a diverse selection of student study spaces and student resources which include the coffee bar, printer kiosks, self-checkout stations high-speed wireless access throughout.
