LOT works on an array of projects ranging in scale and complexity from objects and installations to interior spaces and buildings. The office uses advanced digital tools combined with traditional techniques for testing and executing ideas that aim to create unique spatial experiences with beauty and clarity in form, intellectual and material innovation.
The work has received numerous awards, including the Best Project of the Year Award at the Greek Architecture Awards in 2012 and has been presented in exhibitions worldwide, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Biennale of Young Greek Architects, and the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
In 2013 LOT was shortlisted for the European Piranesi Awards and in 2014 the office was selected for the Wallpaper* Architects Directory, the iconic magazine’s list of the best architectural talent from around the globe.
LOT is founded and directed by Leonidas Trampoukis.
Leonidas holds a Master of Science in Architecture from Columbia University in New York where and from Aristotle Polytechnic University in Greece with prior studies at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette in Paris, combining experiences in architecture, design and the arts.
He was project leader at FR-EE, New York, a global architecture and design firm founded by Fernando Romero with offices in New York and Mexico City and at the New York office of Skidmore Owings & Merill, widely considered among the most influential architecture and interior design firms in the world. He has taught at international architecture and design workshops worldwide and has been a frequent quest critic at design studios at Columbia University and Pratt Institute in New York.
