Neeson Murcutt + Neille is an energetic, design based architectural firm recognised for design excellence. Our architecture is engaging and memorable. We work on a range of project types from bespoke houses to multi-unit housing and housing prototypes, education projects, tourism projects, public and community commissions, and adaptive reuse environments. We have successfully worked with a range of high profile clients including numerous ambitious private clients and significant public bodies such as the City of Sydney, the Australian Museum, the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Catholic Schools, NSW National Parks, and the Sydney Olympic Parklands Authority.
Our work has been recognised locally and internationally through awards, publications, lectures and exhibitions. This includes representation at the 2006, 2008, 2016 and 2021 Venice Biennales. Notably, our work has received the highest AIA Awards at national level, including the Robin Boyd Award for the best residential project in Australia (Castlecrag House, 2011), the Walter Burley Griffin Award for Urban Design (Prince Alfred Park and Pool, 2014), National Awards for Public Architecture (Prince Alfred Park and Pool and the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre), Heritage Architecture (Juanita Nielsen Community Centre) and Residential Architecture (Zac’s House and Whale Beach House).
We have received the 2021 NSW Architecture Medallion for the
Australian Museum – completed with COX Architecture, The John Verge
Award for Interior Architecture (2021, 2017), the Greenway Award for
Heritage Architecture (2021, 2017), the William E Kemp Award for
Educational Architecture (2021), the Sulman Award for Public
Architecture (2016, 2014), the Wilkinson Award for Residential
Architecture (2009, 2007) and the Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design
(2014).
