Tangram was founded in 1990 by the eight original Partners and has grown over the past 21 years into a respected multi-sector practice covering the UK. The practice opened with a handful of commissions in offices at 77, Weston Street, SE1 and moved first into the Leathermarket as an increase in projects led to growth in staff and more recently into Willow Walk.

From the outset, Tangram had a recognised expertise in all aspects of healthcare and this continues to be a strong aspect of our portfolio. We have expanded into other sectors significantly in recent years, becoming increasingly appointed for care homes, offices, residential, police/custodial and conservation projects.

The client base has expanded too with commissions not only in London and the Home Counties but also the Midlands, the north east and north west and eventually across the UK. We enjoy working with many clients on long-term frameworks and have also been appointed as Consultants, to several consortia and to government departments.

Tangram became a Limited Company in 2006 and is now managed by five equity Directors with a flat organisational structure: the practice works in flexible teams and staff engage with a wide variety of project types.

Tangram continues to provide the same focused and sensitive expertise established by the initial founders, and is striving to maintain steady growth - to continue to provide clients with the excellent service and design quality they have come to expect.
