After co-founding OFF agency, Manal Rachdi has founded his own agency Manal rachdi Oxo architects.
He has created a new structure with the intention of developing architectural systems that transform the actual forms of research and analysis, as well as certain theoretical questions, with a strong basis in conception. He has collaborated with the great names in contemporary architecture such as Duncan Lewis from 2003 to 2005, from whom he was assigned to follow a school complex building site in Obernai and also the social housing in Valencia, Spain. He has collaborated with Dubesset Lyon Agency on several winning projects such as the Clermont-Ferrand Library and an office project in Boulogne Billancourt. He joined Jean Nouvel Ateliers in 2007 and took part in winning competitions like Seoul Opera house and also a project for the Paris Philharmonic in 2008. He was the project chief for the mixed use tower competition for the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2008 and also for the development phases in that project. At the same time he was following all the projects of Jean Nouvel ateliers in the United States up to 2009, after which he went definitely back to France in order to develop OXO architects agency.
Since 2004, Manal Rachdi has received a great number of national and international rewards thanks to his projects and collaborations. Due to his award winning projects, Manal Rachdi has forged himself an international reputation and become apillar of the new generation of architects that combines judicious analysis , mischievous experimentation, social responsability and humour, at his practice. He has gained international reputation thanks to his projects, that are highly avant-garde,both from technic and programmatic point of view, all this being designed with reasonable ressources and costs. By practising a programmatic alchemy, he mixes conventional ingredients such as housing, leisure, work and commerce,to create new forms of symbiotic cultures. Along with his architectural practice , he has been very involved as a professor at l’école d’architecture de Versailles. Manal Rachdi’s architectural production has become proof of great audacity, but also shows a remarkable sensibility with context and the client’s demand.
