Community and Culture: We create places that strengthen communities, enrich the culture and enhance the lives of the people they serve.
Energy and Environment: We celebrate our connection to the natural world and protect the earth’s resources in both our designs and our business practices.
Equity and Service: We collaborate with others who share our core values, and support positive change for individuals and communities at local and global scales.
THA Architecture, founded in 1983 by Thomas Hacker, is recognized for the design of public buildings and urban spaces. Libraries, university buildings, museums, theaters and urban design have formed the core of the work. The firm has received national, regional and local design awards, has won three national design competitions and has been published internationally in five languages.
Our goal is to make buildings that express the most inspired architectural meaning for our clients. This focus challenges everyone in the office to produce at their highest potential and offers talented young designers opportunity for a rigorous apprenticeship in architecture.
Design and project management are guided by a core set of principles. The integrity of our client’s values, the quality of the work experience for our staff and a deep respect for the people who build our designs are the underpinning structure. We have a 30-year history of environmentally sensitive and energy efficient design that embodies our belief that buildings and the people within them depend on the lasting health of our environment.
