Before forming Sage and Coombe Architects, Jennifer Sage was a Senior Associate for Design at Pei Cobb Freed & Partners; Peter Coombe was a team architect in New York and on-site with Richard Meier & Partners.
For more than a decade, they have worked together on a variety of small and large projects, responsible for following their design work through construction, in and around New York City. To achieve the highest quality of work, the office has deliberately cultivated a group of complementary professionals, prepared to work as a team and devoted to building great architecture within the constraints of practical realities.
For private clients the firm has designed corporate offices, retail spaces and private residences seeing each project through construction. Selected for the Design Excellence programs with both the Parks Department and the NYC Department of Design and Construction, Sage and Coombe Architects has designed a major renovation and expansion of the Bronx River Arts Center, a new 130,000SF Track and Field Building for PlaNYC and the first LEED project at Fresh Kills. For the FDNY and the NYC Economic Development Corporation, Sage and Coombe is completing the design of a Marine Firehouse; for the NYPL, the firm designed a series of children’s reading rooms in four branch libraries.
As partners and as members of a team, they are committed to working with a range of clients and to remaining actively involved through the phases of each project.
