Weather is a full-service architecture office based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2010 by Shannon Han and Hunter Knight, Weather draws from a combined 20 years of experience in award-winning architecture offices to produce thoughtful and timely responses to the needs of their clients and the demands of both the natural and built environments. Working on all scales and types of projects, including infrastructural, high-rise, institutional, office, residential, retail, interiors and furniture, Weather approaches each design holistically, marrying the ever-changing with the ever-present, to arrive at an architecture that is both responsive to and rooted in the material and cultural conditions of its production.
Works-in-progress include a residence in Los Angeles, California, a high-rise boutique hotel in downtown Los Angeles, a luxury retail store in Beverly Hills and a series of research projects situated throughout Southern California.
FOUNDERS
Shannon Han is a registered architect in New York and California. Shannon received a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI_Arc) in 2006. She practiced with SHoP Architects for seven years, leading large institutional projects and working with Forest City Ratner Co. as SHoP’s Project Architect for the Atlantic Yards B2 Modular Towers.
Hunter Knight received a Master of Architecture from SCI_Arc in 2006. He practiced with Morphosis Architects for eight years, where he worked as a Lead Designer on several projects, including the Phare Tower in Paris, France and more recently the Cornell NYC Tech campus in Manhattan.
