Erin Porter graduated from Rice University and spent a year in New York City, but like so many New Orleans natives, the pull of her hometown brought her back to the city, where she joined Billes Partners in 2007.
Erin’s experience includes institutional, corporate, community and residential. On the Make It Right project, an invited housing design project in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward, Erin was responsible for design, project management, construction documents and continued coordination with the client. Most recently, she has worked as Project Architect for Joe Brown Park in New Orleans East, serving on the project design team from programming through contract administration.
Outside of the office, Erin’s commitment to her community has drawn her to projects where she can mentor New Orleans area students to address design issues in their communities. Favorite initiatives include the National Organization of Minority Architects' Project Pipeline, ACE Mentor Program of America, and Kids Rethink New Orleans Schools.
Erin is a committee chair for the AIA New Orleans Women in Architecture Chapter. She regularly suffers from the wanderlüst and is a sucker for a Creole tomato.
