Erin Porter graduated from Rice University and spent a year in New York City, but like so many New Orleans natives, the pull of her hometown brought her back to the city, where she joined Billes Partners in 2007.
As an Associate at Billes Partners, her involvement on projects such as Joe Brown Park and the Greater Carrollton Community Center includes all phases of design, from programming to contract administration. On the Make It Right Project, an invited housing design project in the New Orleans 9th Ward, Erin acted as Project Manager, leading the project from schematic design through construction documents.
Outside of the office, Erin works with various local organizations to mentor New Orleans area students to address design issues in their communities, including NOMA Louisiana’s Project Pipeline and Kids Rethink New Orleans Schools (ReThink). As an Events and Programming Chair for the Women in Architecture Committee - New Orleans Chapter, Erin was heavily involved in the organizing of the DesignForward 2013 Conference at Tulane University. Erin is a recipient of 2013 Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship.
