The site location is close to an expressway that serves as the starting point for access to Taipei city. To develop a characteristic worthy of a landmark building, grey stone panels and timber louvres are applied as the main materials for façade design. The external louvres extend upward toward the rooftop and construct a grand scale timber frame that defines the area of an outdoor sky garden. For residential units, the design intent is to break the traditional limitations of functionality and provide large scale landscape balconies to combine urban living style with a touch of nature. Also, balconies with their staggered positions add liveliness and rhythm to the exterior. Prominent window frames and timber louvres add a sense of diversity to elevation. The vertical frames extend viewers’ sight to the sky and express the grandeur of the presence of the project.
