The Art Home is a four bedroom UES apartment for a retired art buyer. A gut renovation, we designed around the conceptof three separate domesticate suites inside an art gallery, merging the domestic needs of comfort and privacy with gathering and sharing around art and food. The project investigated the use of walls in a home, either by opening space for larger galleries, by reducing detailing to the most minimum detail to let the art speak, or to creating full built-in storage walls to hide and curate the owner’s collection of books, art pieces, and studio art tools.
