I am an architectural designer currently based in the St. Louis area with roots in Chicago, New York, and Texas. I am a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where I completed my M.Arch in December 2017. During my time at Washington University, I focused my studies on understanding the urban issues plaguing cities today. My studio work has focused on social impact design, and often looks at architectural problems on an urban scale and vice versa. I further pursued these interests as a research assistant with Patty Heyda, Professor of Urban Design, where I worked on the Forward through Ferguson grant. Most recently, I completed a fellowship through the Office of Socially Engaged Practice at Sam Fox School, redeveloping a neighborhood park in an LGBTQ neighborhood in St. Louis, the Grove. Currently, I am working with Derek Hoeferlin Design on the Chouteau Greenway international design competition.
I studied architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2009-2013 earning my B.S.Arch. I spent my junior year abroad in Versailles, France where I continued my studies with specializations in hand sketching and French architecture.
I have 2+ years of experience working in offices of various sizes and specialties. My first internship was with FGM Architects, which was a larger office of 40-50 people. I worked in the education sector on a few different projects, including a theater renovation and schematic design for a new high school. I also worked in a small office of 5-10 in Paris, France. There I worked on several renovation projects in housing, education, commercial, and retail. Before beginning my master's education, I worked for 12 months at Partners in Design architects in an office of 10 people. This experience allowed me to work intimately on a variety of different projects. I was able to gain a large amount of responsibility very quickly, and by the end of my time at Partners, I had independently completed full construction document sets. I also gained experience designing full elevations for small projects and managing the construction administration phase.
