A shaker farmhouse meets passive house in the design of this single family home an hour outside of Philadelphia. The project adopts elements from the surrounding site, a landscape dotted with old wooden barns and stone houses. This house began as a long bar of programmatic elements joined by a continuous gable roof. It's developed into a version of the initial idea as the building has split to step with the pattern of the land. A three season room and parking barn support the main house.
