The redesign of the Lackawana Railyards requires finesse. There are three cities that intersect at this pivotal junction: Hoboken, Jersey City, and New York City. Consideration was giving to all three in determining the proper design for this site. From Hoboken, the massive towers needed to accommodate the program are hidden from view behind their own city blocks. From Jersey City the landscaped plinth, on which everything sits elevated from the tracks, invites people to enjoy park space that is limited on their side. From New York, this forgotten station is Highlighted from a specific vantage point to give the impression that this place is the next big thing.
