...San Diego’s former library has been abandoned for almost three years, and it has a very important location that worth millions of dollars. Now, the building is surrounded by homeless people. On the other hand, Downtown San Diego is witnessing its urban renaissance to innovative district throughout the idea district and maker’s quarters. So, there is a need for more spaces for creative people in the downtown. Therefore, this thesis examines the current condition and future transformation of the old library and the potential expansion on Broadway. In order to provide working spaces for the young pioneers to work, meet, exchange ideas and benefit from the amenities of the downtown.
