Skulls and their symbolism have a long history. The use of skulls in art and decoration appeared as early as the times of the Aztecs. Skulls were not only used as religious symbols but also as a decoration: molded on pots, traced on scrolls, carved on monoliths of lava and used in hieroglyphics. It is thought that skulls are a symbol of death or danger but in many cultures it has always been a symbol of wisdom and guidance.
Nowadays skulls are trending. Animal skulls can be found hanging on the walls of restaurants and bars and more and more people are introducing them into their homes. In a modern interior, skulls can offer texture, form, colours and strangely… life too!
