Angèle Asselin, a native of Montreal, brings her continental French aesthetic to her interior design practice. Taking inspiration from such luminaries as Le Corbusier, Jean Prouve, Peter Zumthor and Joseph Dirand, Angèle’s style is tailored and contemporary, yet deeply rooted in tradition. The result is an expression of elegant and classical interiors designed for practical and modern living.
Angèle hails from an illustrious family of design professionals, starting with her great grandfather, who was an architect. As a young child Angèle began designing and decorating her family’s home and was inspired by her father, grandfather and great grandfather, builders and architects. Angèle’s love of the magic of architecture and design continued while studying in Montreal, Italy and New York.
Angèle favors luxurious, rich materials to create well-appointed, layered spaces while maintaining a level of restraint that evokes a French Modernist aesthetic. Her approach to each project focuses on attention to detail, authenticity and an understated interior landscape incorporating monochromatic palettes and simple, clean lines.
With degrees from Concordia University in Montreal and Interior Design, Parsons the New School for Design, Having worked with various New York designers including David Howell, Bennett Leifer, Janko Rasic and Philip Hazan, Angèle’s portfolio includes luxury apartments, townhouses and country residences across North America.
