About 

Puerto Rican architect with over 15 years of professional experience. My main focus has been K-12 education; however I have experience working on a variety of different project types, including retail, food service, hospitality, multifamily, mixed-use, and higher ed. I am very interested in design activism and design for disaster relief, and have volunteered extensively with Architecture for Humanity and other similar organizations. I am licensed in the state of Oregon and have worked on projects in Illinois, Oregon, and California, as well as internationally in México and the UAE.

Responsibilities include site analysis, massing studies, solar studies, presentation drawings, material selection, construction documents, consultant coordination, and site visits. Involved and assisted in the initial transition of the project team from AutoCAD to Revit.

Work included large-scale adaptive re-use project in downtown Salem Oregon, mid-scale administrative building for higher education, along with high-end multifamily housing and small tenant improvements. Involved from initial project meetings thru CD’s, biddings, and construction meetings. Created renderings for marketings, and coordinated permit submitting and code reviews with municipal authorities.

University of Oregon in Portland, Portland, OR, US, Graduate Research Fellow

Research assistant to associate professor Nancy Cheng's "Shaping Light" project; created laser cut patters for 2D sheets that would be folded to create 3D forms to be used as sun-shading devices. Built day-lighting models and tested of a variety of shading devices, co-authored research paper on the subject that was be presented at the 100th ACSA Annual Meeting in Boston.

Worked on bringing more diversity to the university and School of Architecture and Allied Arts, thru exploring an affiliation with the National Organization of Minority Architects.

Assisted the school in preparation for NAAB accreditation review.

Worked on multiple K-12 projects, both renovations, and new construction, including a 42,000 SF LEED Silver elementary school addition. Participated in project and construction meetings. Responsible for updating product library.

Major projects included a 125,000 SF LEED Silver middle school for Chicago Public Schools and a large-scale luxury resort hotel at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. Coordinated information between various international consultants including interior designers, landscape designers, lighting designers, engineers (MEP, structural, utilities, civil), water feature designers, kitchen consultants, and audiovisual consultants. Participated in site visits and construction meetings during construction.
