As the principal Interior Designer for Marvel Superhero Island, created environmental concepts based on stories of Marvel comics superheroes such as: Spiderman, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Dr. Doom, and Hulk; integrating stories into interior spaces.
• Directed by Creative Director and Executive Show Producer ensured the creative vision and design intent accurately documenting and reviewing drawing packages, co-ordinated with all project personnel, departments and disciplines ( e.g. Design, Ride Show Engineering, Facility Architecture and Engineering ,and Project Management)
• Designed concept development through design development of new attractions, rides, show elements, for attractions as well as facades, retail and dining venues.. Space programming and planning, floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D perspective views for presentation to UIOA executive directors and investors.
• Prepared preliminary Interiors budgets, based on finishes and materials selected for each attraction, or venue at Superhero Island
• Directed Interior Design, and collaborated with Principal Superhero Island architect, to create design development documents
• Designed retail and restaurant spaces specifying materials, seating layouts, building code compliance, creating/ implementing
Interiors drawing standards, bid packages integration of architecture and interiors, mentored and directed production team
• Designed 47 scenes for Cat in the Hat (dark ride), Design development through bid, directed production team
• Developed scenes from the story of “Sneetches” in each building for a very complex Seuss Trolley Train Ride, travelling
through various buildings at Seuss Landing, Islands of Adventure. (UIOA)
• Assisted Sr. Art Director and Production Designer in creation of schematic, DD & CD documents, reviewing prop/scene plans,
ride elevations, sections, special effects and figure action/ animations, and design refinement s for 47 scenes of complicated
rides, and Seuss Trolley concept designs and creation of design development thru bid documents
• Oversaw a team of CAD production and design personnel in the development of documents for bid
• Provided turn key solutions for showset design, reviewed architectural integration of SHOW/RIDE/ and Building systems with
project architect, ride/ track engineer as well as director.
• Reviewed project costs, budgets and adherence to schedules, utilizing various drafting techniques and tools (e.g. AutoCAD,
ADOBE graphics software, 3d software, etc.) creating dimensional scale drawings and models detailing construction methods and integration of various show elements with each other, interiors and the facility architecture.
