I am a highly determined and passionate individual looking for a progressive role in a Manchester based practice. Aiming to gain RIBA Part III whilst becoming an integral part of a successful team. I have proven my commercial success at responding to the complex challenges of client’s needs and site conditions through multifaceted approaches. I enjoy designing with a focus on the human condition, understanding the capacities of architecture to enhance life. Continually, I have shown the ability to meet demanding deadlines whilst maintaining focus on all scales of a project.
Celsius Projects, Leeds, Architectural Assistant Part I
Working on all stages of design and build projects running initial client briefing through planning applications to construction detailing for specialist food production facilities. Led client design meetings, managed drawings from concept to construction, gained extensive site experience from surveying, through to set out and liaising with site management. Developed designs for a new factory, focussing on innovative spatial arrangement, improving efficiency and integrating visitor’s viewing. Detailed the renovation of a derelict farmhouse into an associated visitor’s centre for the factory with a restaurant, offices and NPD suite used to enhance the clients branding.
Chapman Taylor, Shanghai, CN, Architectural Assistant Part I
Selected by the British Council for a funded place on CRCC Asia’s internship programme. An invaluable life experience which provided first hand knowledge of business, communication, architecture and life in a rapidly developing country. Working within an international team, developing concepts for two shopping malls from sketch proposals into formal client presentations. Applying design skills to vastly contrasting client briefs, one community focussed and the other commercially focussed.
