Located in New York City, SHoP Architects PC is a leading architectural firm with a staff of over 160 and headed by seven Principals: Christopher Sharples, Coren Sharples, William Sharples, Kimberly Holden, Gregg Pasquarelli, Jonathan Mallie, and Vishaan Chakrabarti. The firm’s range of services includes Architecture, Planning, and Interior Design. SHoP works closely with its sister company, SHoP Construction, extending their capacity for construction management, building information modeling, sustainability engineering and building envelope consulting.
SHoP was founded in 1996 to prove that beautiful architecture could be built in the real world, with real world constraints. Through collaboration and the fusion of diverse talent, knowledge, and technology, SHoP is able to build spaces that shape experiences and inspire.
SHoP has won a number of high profile awards, including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s 2009 National Design Award, and multiple awards from the American Institute of Architect’s New York City and New York State chapters. In 2013, SHoP was the recipient of AIA New York State’s Firm of the Year Award. SHoP’s work has been published and exhibited internationally, and is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. The firm’s first monograph, Out of Practice, was published in 2012.
