About 

Rodolfo is a licensed Filipino architect with over  8  years of diverse design, customer relations, and management experience in design and real estate companies.

He’s been involved in projects ranging from architectural interiors, residential, commercial, master planning, and healthcare, from schematic design through contract documents.  He is adept in producing drawings at various stages, creating marketing collateral, architectural research, standard development, as well as optimizing production and documentation workflows.

On top of formal education, he is continuously expanding his expertise by digesting industry recommended literature, with a particular interest in architectural design and detailing.

Over the course of his experience, he has exhibited and developed an interest in efficiency, aligning processes and goals, incremental innovation in work processes, and contributing to a healthy working culture.

Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation, Taguig, PH, PROJECT OFFICER / ARCHITECT OF TECHNICAL SERVICES GROUP

Worked within the Technical Services Group to manage primarily in the planning and design cluster to design and oversee architectural and infrastructure projects. This involves project management, review, coordination with consultants and stakeholders, and - a key distinction from other roles -  to provide the group with an in-house design capability.
 
- Primary role as an in-house architect and designer;
- Designed park amenities and improvements;
- Master planned city length promenade;
- Coordinated and managed the quality of architectural projects on site;
- Technical review of architectural projects;
- Developed and provided specifications for architectural projects;
- Creating key visuals for all architectural and infrastructure projects;
- Compiled and developed design guidelines and requirements for new projects;
- Participated in the review for the proposed update of the master plan guidelines in BGC.
- Primary role in coordinating, designing creating parameters for Adopt-a-Park Projects;
- Assisted project management team on the creation of implementation plans for bike infrastructure and the city underground cable network;
- Assisted cost and contracts team with quantity surveying and purchase order creation;
- Generating and compiling reports for management meetings, reviews and deliberation;
- Worked closely with the Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, the company’s corporate social responsibility department, for the programming and design donated classrooms, and other community infrastructure.

Key achievements:

Provided the Technical Services Group with in-house architectural design capabilities that expanded into the group’s infrastructure development capability. This has proven crucial during the worst 2 years of the pandemic during which cost-cutting measures required the team to be lean and the projects delivered as quickly as possible. The in-house capability has developed more over the three years resulting in company savings in consultant fees, quicker feedback, and a profound increase in the control over the quality of the projects especially evident in the Westgate Interim Terminal Project, Adopt-a-Park Projects, and the Promenade Master Plan Project.

Private Resort House Developments (Remote), Mandaluyong, PH, DESIGN CONSULTANT

Worked as a design consultant in charge of design conceptualization, design development, and architectural visualization for two high-end residences with detached garages, and a community spa. Primarily involved in the development of various façade schemes for a high-end residential resort development.

- Conception of various design schemes based on client provided references;
- Management of 3d modeling and rendering systems with SketchUp and V-ray;
- 360 facade design development;
- Landscape and hardscape design development;
- Coordination of design changes and communicating remotely with the client;
- Creation high-quality architectural marketing collaterals.
 
Key achievements:

The creation of three detailed design development model sets in SketchUp unified by a distinct thematic aesthetic.

Worked with the sales and project management department to oversee the life cycle of architectural visualization projects. This involves converting leads into active projects, financial monitoring, various communications platforms monitoring, client relations, managing production scheduling, conflict resolution, and project close-out.
 
ARCHITECTURAL SALES MANAGER
First contact with prospective clients and involved overseeing the company communications systems, accounting systems, and generating business for the company’s brands across the globe.
 
This involves working directly with the architectural sales director and handling client requests, conflict resolution, and providing support to project managers on client relations.

Handled an average of 15 projects on a monthly basis. Involved in the whole production cycle of the project involving assessment of requirements, milestone scheduling, and close out.

Ayala Land Premier – Customer Relations Group, Taguig, PH, QUALITY CONTROL / TURNOVER ARCHITECT

Worked under the Customer Relations group of Ayala Land Premier as a part of a team deployed to the company’s various properties. Involved in quality control and assurance of the finishing for luxury residential units, horizontal developments, and had a primary role in turning over properties to clients.
 
QUALITY CONTROL ARCHITECT
- In charge of inspecting and punch listing of luxury residential units, and horizontal developments;
- Involved in standard development, e.g. updating punch list forms and inspection procedures;
- Attended project technical group meetings with contractors, subcontractors, project development heads, and project managers to report findings and discuss solutions and procedures;
- Created post-mortem reports for vertical and residential developments;
- Assisted the post construction team in mobilizing and overseeing repair and renovation work for units already handed over.

TURNOVER ARCHITECT
- Prepared vertical and horizontal developments for turnover to clients;
- Documented client requests and personal punch lists;
- Prepared and coordinated with a quick response team to have client punch lists done on the spot;
- Prepared forms for client turnovers;
- Provided support for senior staff on turnovers;
- Trained and lead new staff on turnover procedures for horizontal developments.

Key achievements:

Accomplished the bulk of the first run of inspections (first 4 – 5 months) for a high-end residential tower in Bonifacio Global City. With the extensive exposure to the daily on-goings of the site, initiated an update of the punch list forms and inspection procedures, resulting in increased efficiency, i.e. the doubling of the number of inspected units daily, and decreased fatigue on the inspection team.

Had a primary role in maintaining office operations. In charge of production, standard development, and architectural design, with support roles in periodic site visits, and client meetings.
 
SENIOR DESIGNER
- In charge of architectural design, from schematic design through contract documents;
- In charge of research and detailed development for approval of the principal architect;
- Coordinated project requirements and project schedules;
- Developed presentation drawings and marketing collateral for clients;
- Periodic site visits and client meetings with clients to finalize design decisions and manage design conflicts;
- Coordinated with allied fields and consultants.

ASSOCIATE ARCHITECT
- Prepared client invoices;
- Updated client contracts;
- In charge of correspondence on on-going projects;
- In charge of mentoring interns and apprentices on the flow of work, drawing standards, and general office duties;
- Initiated standard development for documentation and production.

Key achievements:
 
In over 4 months, became the sole employee of the office and managed the operations and production, with direction from the principal architect. Took the initiative of overhauling office drawing and documentation standards, creating new standards for the production, drafting, 3d modeling with SketchUp, and general documentation for projects. Increased efficiency and mitigated overtime costs for the office. Ensured that the standards are scalable, simple, adaptable, easy to use, and suitable for a small office.

CASA Arkitektura / F.L. Santaromana Designs, Quezon City, PH, CAD DESIGNER/ JUNIOR ARCHITECT

Cycled through the design and production departments of the firm. A key player in the drafting and 3d modeling operations of the company. Worked directly under the senior designer and principal architect and helped develop drafting and 3d modeling procedures. This involved the following:

- Architectural drafting and design of detailed sections of residential and commercial projects;
- Prepared presentation and working drawings;
- 3d modeling, diagrammatic assembly drawings to illustrate solutions and clash detection with contractors, and stake holders;
- Key role in producing the company’s working drawings;
- Assisted in the development of an efficient drafting workflow between SketchUp and CAD drawings, allowing for shorter production times and better quality.
 
Key achievements:
 
Assisted on major projects for the company in a design, drafting and 3d modeling capacity. Played a constant support role in urgent projects, putting in extra hours to augment production, particularly in the 3d modeling and design detailing. Proposed and helped implement various workflow transitions between software, particularly CAD and Sketchup, resulting in easily adaptable and effective production procedures.
