Pomona, CA, US

Hello my name is Rogelio Mercado am currently in my 4th yea of Architecture school at Cal Poly Pomona. I am a transfer student from LAHC under the teachings of Michael Song and Scott Callahan. I have had several great work opportunities before transferring to Cal Poly. I was one of many students selected and invited to to intern represent the west coast architecture schools at the Community Design Center of Atlanta. Many other schools that were present were USC, Sciarc, MIT, Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Syracuse, Carnegie Mellon, etc. We were all broken up into groups where every intern group had one person from each school and was under the leadership of an architect. We were tasked with designing prefabricated architecture for low income families, a budget and land was donated to us by Grants and Trustees of the Design Center. I will place more information and images on a posting if your interested.

After Living, School, and working in Atlanta, I returned to LAHC where a visiting instructor/Architect Micheal Rendler(an amazing architect and mentor) offered me a job to work for him at E7Architecture. I specialized in visualization consultation for many firms while at E7, names like HMC, ACMArtin, Cannon, Architectonica, etc.  while at E7 I trasnfered to Cal Poly. Fast forwarding to the present, I just got back from traveling and studying architecture all over the world. I was part of the Greece summer study Abroad where we traveled through Europe studying architecture from Paris to Venice and Germany in between. Lived and studied Architecture in Patra, Greece under Marc Blake and Spyros Amurgis(studied and worked for K.Frampton).  I returned for several weeks to Los Angeles then left to study architecture in Taipei, Taiwan which was an amazing experience that helped me understand the architecture market in emerging Asian countries.

Now am back at Cal Poly consulting for Architecture Firms and applying my learning experiences from all these travels, teachings, and new perspectives on architecture. Am currently enrolled in Seismic, Agriculture Ethics,  George Proctors Parametric architecture design concentrating on the studies of modular kit-of-parts and anthropomorphic architecture. Also enrolled in Decaf which is taught by Axel Schmitzberger concentrating on fabrication methods in coordination with Grasshopper and associated plug ins.

Ill be uploading and Posting pictures from travels, sketches, and architecture work.
Thanks, for reading through my rambling. Be sure to leave any comments or Job Offers haha
