About

Overall, I am a recent graduate who travels extensively and regularly, enjoys living in downtown Chicago, and cooks as much as possible. I stay involved in the city, through the AIA, Friends of Downtown, dancing, and as a board member of the NSDAR Chicago Chapter. I build my own furniture and continue to make improvements to my new home. Philosophy, discussions of new technologies, and the intertwined nature of our world on a cultural and physical level remains a constant interest. I am fluent in French, and understand Spanish well, something that is a great asset in my travels.

As an junior architect I have a background in BIM, graphics, campus planning and historic preservation research, building systems documentation and sustainable concrete technologies. I graduated with honors from the B. Arch program of the Illinois Institute of Technology with a double specialization in digital media and landscape architecture. I later followed my interest in construction materials by completing a thesis for the M.S Arch program as an extensive study of the innovations in sustainable concrete technology and potential affects on future design. I recently returned from an advanced internship with the Building Systems Innovation Team of Lafarge Concrete in their central lab outside Lyon, France. I have had a couple of temporary positions since my return, but as I have recently graduated, am more interested in a challenging full time position with a firm who works with various program types, restoration, and preferably utilizes BIM and other advanced technologies. Although I am open to staying in the concrete industry, I would rather return to a design environment and employ my past experience towards directly advancing current works. I have found that bridging the gap between design and materials engineering is becoming more and more relevant to current construction practices and sustainable design advancements.
