    X. Proportion, Scale and Perception

Greeks used golden ratio [Fibonacci series], π and etc., but it was not all about golden ratio but the perception.

Greeks’ center of architectural creation was proportion (harmonious relation of things) which is x2-x-1=0  = 1.618033 = x=(1+Radical5)/2. we should NOT touch the theories of proportion since this only disturbs the senses.

    Description: The Fibonacci spiral

Our body can perceive the physical world and its proportion both in ancient time and now. This proportion had been inherited automatically like Tatami in Japan but in last two decades it was neglected.

Sinnce human is locus of experience thereby we need proportion in development of future architecture.

At the end, it’s remarkable that the golden ratio is NOT a begging but rather a tuner after the primary design.

About this Blog

As the world is developing its way of communication, we, the architects need to be more curious on stuff around us! Rise of different philosophies around the globe, rapid growth in our awareness, transformation of communication types and many more items around are leading the ARCHITECTURE to an absolute new brand of its roots! It is time to ask: are we, the TRANSFORMERS or are we the results of TRANSFORMATIONS of GENIUS LOCUS (the protective spirit of a place)?
