I am attending now the second year of the Combined Master degree in Spatial Planning and Urban Project at FAUP (Faculty of Architecture) and FEUP (Faculty of Engineering) of Universidade do Porto, Portugal. I am about to graduate on July 2017 with my master thesis “Self-public planning Villa 31. The public space as a social space that does not exist in the house”, a work focused on urban planning in the poorest region of South America. I started my thesis while I was participating to an exchange academic program at the Universidad de Buenos Aires from august 2016 until march 2017, attending the master course "Habitat and urban poverty in Latin America”. The main objective of the thesis is the development of an investigation that makes possible to concretize a theory on the management of public spaces in poor housing areas and to understand the urban processes and actions that can contribute to create collective meeting points in these areas with difficulties and thus contribute to rehabilitate these spaces. The result to be achieved is to recognize innovative and sustainable design tactics that are on display in slums.

I got the Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture on February 2015 at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, with my bachelor thesis “The garden city: research for an edible landscape”. The thesis deals with the issue of urban gardens, seen as green spaces in a city now remained without breath, in response to the food emergency problem, and is proposed as a possible solution to the economic crisis of the recent years.

On the second year of my bachelor, I participated to the Erasmus Program at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias in Lisbon, Portugal, for one academic year. There I started to learn Portuguese and I started to get interested for the Portuguese architecture, and therefore I decided to do my master degree in Porto.

In these three years of my bachelor, I did also internships in architecture atelier (Italy and Portugal), workshops (Portugal and Turkey), exhibitions and competitions (Italy).

During my years of study, I have also participated in some volunteer programs, that I considered useful for my future career. In 2015 during one month I participated to the WWOOF program in Sao Paulo, Brasil where I learned the permaculture techniques, in the same year I worked for EXPO Milano 2015 -Feeding the Planet, and at the beginning of 2017 I volunteered for 2 months as urban planner at the Rupanco Farm, Chile

I chose to study at the faculty of architecture, because planning is one of the expression of my character, I am an eclectic person and sensitive to art. In my life, I travelled picking up incentives with architectural, environmental, social, cultural and anthropological situations. I wanted to live educational experiences abroad to be exposed to other cultures and new teaching methods that would enrich my education and culture, also strengthening the acquaintances of others foreign language.

In my future, I would like to work with the most critical situations of urban planning and architecture that are affecting the poorest areas of the world.
