The Zoological Lighting Institute (ZLI) is a 501 c(3) Nonprofit, with a mission to advance the sciences of light and life through the arts for animal welfare and wildlife conservation.
Our primary purpose is to fund photobiology research through dedicated and socially relevant campaigns, but we also provide resources for artists, architects, fashion designers and film-makers. ZLI encourages proper data-driven metrics to more effectively consider biological and ecological relationships of light. We offer animal friendly and wildlife sensitive planning partnerships to our members, and are an AIA CES Provider.
Planning services center on wildlife and light. ZLI pursues bird-friendly planning, wild-sensitive light management plans and wildlife provisioning plans, specifically as these relate to architectural design.
