Constructed as a permanent installation for the Washington Alexandria Architecture Center, the stairway trellis aims to link the second floor bar area with the circulation space below. Our design compliments the existing bar top movement in the stairwell, as well as creates a clean and linear visual barrier where greenery can flourish. The tension knobs were carved out of of aluminum and bronze cylinders using the metal lathe, and act as anchors for the wire to wrap across the stair space.
