The site is located at the south part of Tel Aviv, on the west side of Ayalon River. Our project is to reimagine the historical well-house, with a water ventilation strategy to reduce the urban heat effect. It is combining ancient technologies, Badgir, with the Well-House network to create a cooling ventilation system to resolve urban heat. It is taking the former well-house network which exists in various conditions today, pulling it forward as a new nodal climatic infrastructure. Also, we propose new Well-Houses for ecological and social purposes.
Our climate relief strategy will imply on the south Tel Aviv scale to fulfill the greatest need of people in this socially vulnerable neighborhood. These green corridors were once the major routes for exporting oranges and now can function as corridors to bring sea breeze to the inner parts of the city as well as to hold various social programs. Also, there will be porous landscapes along the corridor for these migratory birds.
