Zhiyu Lin was born and raised in Jinhua, Zhejiang, the south of China. She studied interior design at Savannah College of Art and Design as an undergraduate and studies architecture at the University of Southern California for a master's degree.

Architecture and interior design are closely related to people’s lives. Architecture interior design not only focuses on the word "design" but also on "create." The essence of design is created. Architecture and interior design are to create a comfortable and suitable living or working environment for people through design. Zhiyu's connection with architecture and interior design since she was a little girl; she always played with building blocks. Those tiny blocks became a tall building made by her again and again. She still remembers the first time she went to the building sales center with her dad, excited about the small-scale building models. She could watch the whole day and imagine how to change the layout of the space. Because of her experience in her childhood, let her know about what Architecture Interior Design is let her have the goal of being an architects and interior designer in the future.

From her perspective, architecture and interior design come from life. After learning architecture and interior design, she started to slow down the steps of life and pay attention to the details of the interior of her life. From an early age, she has always thought of things from different aspects and perspectives; she focuses on details a lot, which she feels is her most dominant.
